The official logo for 2014 FIFA world cup has been designed by the creative firm of Brazilian agency Africa. The logo for 2014 football world cup was revealed in South Africa, Johannesburg on 8 July 2010. The announcement was made on 27 September 2012 by the Brazilian Ministry of Sports. The step was taken due to immense popularity of vuvuzelas in previous world cup in South Africa.

The sound intensity of caxirola is not as high as vuvuzelas are and has been specifically engineered to produce acceptable sound levels.
